From black to White....:)

I bought my e36 in May of 2009 and the condition was pretty good. I love the black color that was originally on it but there where a lot of rock chips on the hood, bumper, fender and mirrors, and the paint is original so its pretty old. So I decided to do a color change and this is what I decided on. A pearl White with a blue tint. I wish I took more pictures of my car but this is all i have and there taken from my cell phone. hehe

Now its time to sand down this beautiful color and do some body work:

These pics are pictures after i have wet sanded the whole car down with 600grit and put some body filler where there where a couple of low spots:





Did you noticed that my fenders are flared??


I also took all the side moldings of so that it wont get damaged from the sanding, you also save a lot of tape by not taping it all up.

notice all the residue from wet sanding all the clear off. so what i did was i gave my car a hand was with just my hand and lots of running water.

after everything is clean its time to tape up all the windows. I still have to drive it to the paint booth so to save some time i am just going to tape the outer weather strips.



Thats all the pics i have now. The car is just sitting in my garage ready to be painted tomorrow.I am going to be painting my car tomorrow at 3, so i will take some more pictures of me spraying a white sealer, base coat, pearl, then a clear coat. i will also be doing the door jams. wish me some luck!! );

God damn, thats awesome. Mine need a new paint job so badly, though i would hate to strip off the finish myself. How did you do it? Orbital sander? By hand? I take it youre not removing the window moldings? What about the paint youre using?

i hand sanded everything. Just got it out of the paint booth on friday so i will post up some pictures tomorrow!!!

Hmm, didnt take the taillights out?
