subwoofer options and placement in E36

Postby Tidan » Mon Jul 02, 2012 4:19 pm

Looking for a good subwoofer option for my car. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a sub and what is the best placement for it to get the best sound and yet still be able to access the spare tire (and not accidentally drill into something important)?

Thanks!

How did you secure the box? And are the amps attached to the back of the back seats?

I actually Used brackets from some Computer Equipment i had laying around and i used a 3/4" plywood covered with black speaker carpeting using a bracket on that as well screwed it to the top deck.

I'm thinking of attaching my sub to the top of the deck, but am concerned that it won't be stable enough under hard cornering and/or drifting (or hard braking). I'm hesitant to attach it to the floor since I won't be able to get to my spare tire.
Nothing worse than needing to get to something in a hurry and having to unbolt a bunch of stuff.

If you used the Right Brackets it will hold under quite a bit of stress. Also its a good idea to figure how deep the subs are so you can keep it as thin as possible when building.
