Tt stg 2 intake

Postby BLAZNM3 » Sat Oct 22, 2011 1:21 am

Hey guys, I am currently unhappy with the performance of my tt stg 2 intake. Ideally I would like to delete the a/c and run the piping straight to behind the fog light. But that's not an option..... I have grown attached to my a/c. :D I have looked around and haven't really seen any better intakes that would fit with my manifold. How ever I saw the tcd kit and I would love there intake pipe. But not sure if it would fit........ Any ideas????

So on my way home, I was getting on the freeway at temp of course! I was at around 4500 took it to 6200 right before I went to shift and i heard a loud bang "like a gun shot" from my car. Which later I found my charge pipe from my turbo to the intercooler had blown off. No real damage but a few scraps on the pipe, and a missing elbow. So I need to find a new 2" to 2.5" 90 degree elbow.

Any input on a better intake plan with out deleting the a/c??? I cant fit a normal up pipe from the turbo because of the headers. BUT! Could i delete that restrictive crimped rubber bend for some sort of 90 degree elbow????? Boost gods i am at your mercy!

Can you get a heat shield between that and the motor? The intercooler can only take away so much heat.

I havent really found a way to get around this. The only thing I could think of, and I dont even know if this will work, is to make brackets for your a/c to move it to the side abit which would allow you to get piping through so you could get the intake by the fog. I dout this would work with the intake cone you have so you might have to buy a smaller one but its something you could look at.
