I got the kit from a guy that sells a ton of them on Bf.c

And I was thinking the same thing that gently used kits can probably be had for cheaper. Why is it not such a good idea to get one right off the bat though?

Also if I wanted to do a SSK would it be easier to do it now when I'm doing the swap or does the SSK just as easy to install later on?

Its not a bad idea to get the SSk nor would it be a bad idea to get the LTW guess its just me since i wanted to get the feel of a Manual first before i started tearing up high dollar clutch part etc. As it is i blew out my getrag but i learned my lesson

Ahh, I see. I've driven and owned several manual cars. One of them being an e36 so I'm not worried about tearing it apart by any means.

I'm just curious as to what kind of gains I'll see using a ltw flywheel and if its worth the money.

Update 4/20 *Project: APESHIT* Build discussion

Postby Volfinator » Mon Apr 20, 2009 1:14 pm

Newest update....

Everything is now sitting in my garage. Minus a shift boot and shift knob. Saved some money that way because I'm gonna get custom stuff anyway.

Would it benefit me to do an SSK while installing? Or is it just as easy to do an SSK with the trans still in?

:florian

Also, stay tuned for a while. I've spent quite a bit of time pondering the fate of my lowly e36. I'm gonna change my plans a bit with this car.

Update 4/20 *Project: APESHIT* Build discussion

Postby Volfinator » Sun Apr 26, 2009 4:05 pm

Well to give you guys a bit of an update on the plans for the car.

First off, I've gotta figure out WTF is going on with this idle problem. I wish Jimmy were around so he could help me out. He seems to know everything...lol

Anway... Car is ultimately going to stay NA. While I've decided to keep the e36 until the last body panel rusts and falls off. Its not worth selling for under 10k because to me its worth more than that. So maybe one day after all the idiots of the world are done smashing these poor M3s to bits the e36 will rise in value. If not, I'm okay with that too. :D

Anyway... car is staying NA. I'm gonna go full NA build though. Cams, injectors, etc. I'm not that far away from finishing an NA build that's one of the major reasons... I'm 5.5k from F/I and like 2k from full NA. Plus I'm starting to become wary of dumping all this money into a 144k car that's pushing 15 years old. Not to mention I've already got a nice chunk of an e46 saved up, and that's coming up too. Plans for that car are an HPF kit so every last penny will be needed to be put aside to fund that.

So to sum it all up, I'm keeping it, and toning down the "Apeshit" just a tad.
